Dear friends, Today, at approximately 1pm, Pax Christi USA Executive Director Dave Robinson and Pax Christi USA Policy Director Jean Stokan were arrested as part of the Declaration of Peace action at the White House.
Additionally, yesterday Pax Christi USA held a joint press conference with the Muslim American Society's Freedom Foundation to address the recent remarks of Pope Benedict XVI and the incidents following those remarks. At the press conference, Robinson announced a Pax Christi USA initiative calling for greater dialogue and solidarity between Christians and Muslims working for peace. Robinson's statement calls on Pax Christi USA members and all Christians who believe in peace to join with our Muslim brothers and sisters in observing the fast that Muslims observe during the season of Ramadan. Information on the news conference, Robinson's statement, and more information on the call to observe fasting during Ramadan are below.
